Yakuza 0: The 8 Best Mods (2025)

Yakuza 0 is the recommended start of the series for a reason. Not only does it shed more light on key characters like Kiryu and Majima, but it also makes an awesome impression with its dynamic battle system and minigames, dramatic main story, and hilarious substories. If you divert from the main story, Yakuza 0 can easily take over 100 hours to beat, especially if you're a completionist.

The game already presents a full package, but no game is completely perfect. There are countless mods out there that make the PC version of Yakuza 0 even more of a blast to play and add a lot of replay value.

8 New Movesets And Heat Actions

Yakuza 0: The 8 Best Mods (1)

This mod is a no-brainer if you love the combat and cinematic Heat Actions in Yakuza 0 but have seen the same ones a million times already. It gives you a new moveset to beat up enemies with, as well as new Heat Actions. Also, it modifies the quick-time events that happen in boss battles and their intros before the fight starts.

Not only that, but there are changes and additions to the weapons, too. Overall, this mod breathes new life into the game, making sure to keep it fresh for longer.

7 Infinite Durability And Bullets

Yakuza 0: The 8 Best Mods (2)

Weapons in the game can be very useful against particularly hard enemies, like Majima's and Kiryu's respective Mr. Shakedowns. But when they break or run out of bullets in the moment, you could be in trouble. This mod allows all of your weapons to have infinite durability and bullets.

Most people don't like durability mechanics for weapons in games, and if you're one of them, this mod was basically made for you. Just make sure to repair any weapons you had before installing this mod at the Dragon and Tiger shop to make them gain this effect.

6 Komaki Restoration

Yakuza 0: The 8 Best Mods (3)

A major incentive to finishing Kiryu's Real Estate Royale minigame is unlocking his iconic Dragon of Dojima fighting style. New fighting styles are always welcome in this game, and this one is especially powerful once it's upgraded enough.

However, if 0 isn't your first Yakuza game, you might have noticed that this style is missing some of the iconic Komaki moves he uses in the other games. This mod puts those Komaki moves into Yakuza 0, letting Kiryu use them in his Dragon of Dojima fighting style. It also adds a few bonus quality-of-life details related to fighting.

5 All Annoying CP Completed

Yakuza 0: The 8 Best Mods (4)

No matter how much you love Yakuza, you're probably not a huge fan of every single minigame it has to offer. This makes it all the more frustrating when Completion Points are locked behind certain achievements related to those loathed minigames.

Luckily, this benevolent mod has done most of the dirty work for you and completed a majority of the achievements that give you CP. The important ones, like substories, are still available for you to experience and unlock yourself. With this mod, you don't have to stress about playing the things you don't like for the sake of completion.

4 Licensed Music Restoration Patch

Yakuza 0: The 8 Best Mods (5)

If you're only familiar with the Western release of Yakuza 0, you might not have known that the Japanese version had licensed music that didn't make it in the English version. This mod restores that music so that you can enjoy it in the English version too.

While it may not be a major thing, it's nice to be able to experience the game's cinematics with the music that was originally intended for them. The licensed songs play during the intro and end credits, as well as a cutscene very early on in the game.

3 Modern Minimap

Yakuza 0: The 8 Best Mods (6)

This detail is purely cosmetic, but it's nice to have all the same, especially when you've looked at the same interface for hours. This mod gives the minimap in the game a makeover, enhancing the definition of the icons and changing the colors to be more in line with the '80s.

You're going to be looking at the map practically all the time to get from place to place, so why not spice it up a little and make it nicer to look at with this minimap mod?

2 The Ultimate Nishiki Mod

Yakuza 0: The 8 Best Mods (7)

Whether you're a huge fan of Nishiki or just want the chance to play as someone other than Kiryu (who isn't Majima), this mod will scratch that itch. It replaces everything Kiryu-related, such as his model and voice lines, with Nishiki versions. It even uses Nishiki's movesets, so you're not just doing the same thing in battle with a Nishiki skin.

This is another mod that does well at keeping the game fresh and the combat fun to play. You might as well enjoy playing as Nishiki before the events of Yakuza Kiwami 2.

1 Rebalanced Mod

Yakuza 0: The 8 Best Mods (8)

If you feel like you've pretty much mastered everything the game has to offer, try playing with this mod. It adds an extra layer of challenge in some places by recalibrating many of the fighting aspects. Enemies, including bosses, will have higher HP, and most of the fighting styles do less damage to them.

On the flip side, it adds convenient changes, like making Real Estate Royale and Cabaret Club Czar faster so that there's more time freed up for the main content. There's also some conditional weapon durability tossed in there, as well as many more additions. It's almost like playing a remaster.
